Bard Language Lab Presents
Active Language Forum
A Public Presentation and Dialogue
Wednesday, May 13, 2026
Olin Language Center
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
Over the past two years, the language center has gradually taken shape as something our community now calls the LAB: The Center for Language, Attention, and Belonging. This semester, we have been working across languages and disciplines to explore how attention, translation, and AI are changing the way we read, write, and understand one another. Our student research team invites faculty and students to engage with our projects as part of an ongoing exchange that extends beyond presentation into conversation and shared inquiry. We will explore irreplaceable ways of being human, what gets lost in translation, and how cultural nuance might collapse under pressure. Come listen and respond to ideas that might connect to your own work and ways of thinking.5:00 pm – 6:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
