Dedicated to the commemoration of the tragic death on February 16 of Russia's opposition leader, politician, and Putin's prisoner of conscience Alexei Navalny, this panel will rely on the political theorist Greg Yudin's (Princeton University) and philosopher Archie Magno's (Bard & Gagarin Center) understanding of Navalny's impact on Russian politics and their interpretation of the current state of Russian opposition. The dialogue between the two scholars aims to engage students and faculty in a dialogue about Navalny's life and legacy and the future of the movement he inspired in Russia and abroad.7:00 pm – 8:30 pm EST/GMT-5
After a 30-minute break, the panel will be followed by the screening of Navalny (Dir. Daniel Roher, 2022).
