Achebe House
9:00 am – 10:15 am EST/GMT-5
Join us in Achebe House to discuss how the Bard and Annandale community can be engaged in the upcoming Worldwide Climate Education and Justice Week. Coffee and donuts will be available for in-person attendees. A link will be provided for those wishing to attend virtually.9:00 am – 10:15 am EST/GMT-5
The Worldwide Climate Education and Justice Week is scheduled for April 1–8, and we would like to do two things that week in Annandale:
1. Make Climate a (series of) Events
2. Make Climate a Class (in 50+ classes)
Potential ideas for events include live theater, a movie, panel discussions, a faith event, info about Bard’s climate commitment, a dinner, bands, and more. Collaborations with local high schools and middle schools are also of interest.
Here is the #MakeClimateAClass concept: During Education Week, non-climate faculty teaching non-climate courses like European History, Intro to Physics, Anthropology 101, Romantic Literature. or Adolescent Psychology talk for 30 minutes how their discipline is engaging with climate change. If 50 faculty at Bard make climate a class in just one of their classes, 600+ students will be talking about climate change that week.
Please join, and in this hottest year in human history, help students, faculty, and staff move from Climate Despair to Climate Repair.
