Call for Course Proposals: Spring and Fall 2027

GHEA21 is inviting proposals for Online Courses for Spring 2027 and Network Collaborative Courses for Spring and Fall 2027.
Online Courses (OC) are offered by a single institution to students across GHEA21. They take place entirely online and include students from the host institution.
Network Collaborative Courses (NCCs) are co-designed and co-taught by faculty across two or more partner institutions. NCCs may entail longer (full-semester) or shorter, more modular (4-6 weeks) cross-network collaboration.
All lead faculty and co-faculty involved in proposed NCCs must be registered in the GHEA21 portal by the time of the proposal submission and submit separate forms designated for NCC lead and co-faculty.
Faculty are expected to secure approval from their home institution to offer their proposed courses prior to submitting the form.
GHEA21 courses are, with rare exceptions, taught by regular faculty of the home institution as part of their regular teaching load.
In reviewing proposals, priority will be given to courses that contribute to GHEA21 Academic Certificates in the following ways:
- Civic Engagement: Courses that offer more engaged coursework, connect students to local or international communities, or incorporate civic engagement activity.
- Human Rights: Proposals for Human Rights courses in all fields are welcome, including courses which develop linkages to human rights organizations or research projects, courses in peacebuilding or mediation, and courses looking at intersections of human rights, science, technology and data.
- Sustainability and Climate Solutions: Courses that focus on sustainability and climate solutions in the arts, natural or social sciences, humanities, engineering, business, or law.
- Global Humanities: Courses that explore human culture and experience through the arts, humanities, and literature; foster critical understanding of global humanities and contemporary global issues; promote interdisciplinary inquiry across humanities disciplines and traditions; cultivate appreciation of diverse cultural and intellectual perspectives; enhance cross-cultural understanding; and empower students to apply humanities knowledge to complex global challenges through creative and inclusive problem-solving.
- Global Studies: Courses that explore transnational or international issues, such as forced migration, global pandemics, or the rise of authoritarianism, or that examine a global issue from a regional–African, Middle Eastern, South American, etc.--perspective.
- Technology and Society:* Courses that explore the creation, development, uses, and impacts of technology in historical, cultural, social, economic, or political contexts.

- Click on the “Not registered?” link below the Log in button to create your account. Please use your institutional email.
- Once logged in for the first time you will see the Registration form.
- Fill in the fields and click the next button at the bottom of the form to complete your registration.
