Olin Language Center, Room 203 (Tutoring Corner)
5:00 pm EST/GMT-5
A helpful rag doll that fits into a heroine's apron pocket and acts as a "domestic assistant" is a quintessential trope of Eastern European folklore. For generations, creating guardian dolls and making toys out of fabric, thread, grain, and straw has been a tradition that strengthens the bond between mothers and daughters while passing on the legacy of sewing and embroidery skills. Join the REAS faculty and students for a Slavic doll-making workshop. Try your hand at creating a character out of humble materials, and celebrate the end of winter—the season of intensive needlework and other kinds of handicrafts. All materials will be provided!5:00 pm EST/GMT-5
