SEA Semester is the leading off-campus Environmental Studies study abroad program focused on the oceans. Open to all majors, their summer and semester programs offer undergraduate students the opportunity to combine academic coursework on shore in Woods Hole, MA with authentic guided research at sea aboard one of their two sailing research vessels. While the academic focus varies, each SEA Semester program offers an interconnected suite of courses designed to explore a specific ocean-related theme using a cross-disciplinary approach.11:00 am – 2:00 pm EST/GMT-5
Since 1971, SEA Semester has educated nearly 7,500 students by offering sailing voyages of adventure and discovery grounded in rigorous academic coursework. Their shore-to-sea program design combines traditional classroom learning with practical skill-building in a real world environment at sea, creating high-impact learning opportunities with an emphasis on outcomes including leadership development, research skills, and personal growth.
