Hipster Meets the Ghost of Communism: New Labourers of Soviet Factories

As a part of Memory-studies seminar, the lecture portrays a new generation of creative laborers re-inhabiting former Soviet factories with post-industrial projects such as contemporary art centers, creative spaces, and clusters. Margarita addresses their working lives and memory of space, the new ‘stakhanovization’ of the labor, and the role of these ‘cultural oases’ in post-Soviet cities.
