Discover the inspiring life of Sojourner Truth, abolitionist and sufragette, from her escape from slavery in nearby Port Ewen to her struggle and triumphs at the Ulster County Courthouse. This community event is a unique opportunity to walk in Sojourner's footsteps and learn about her incredible legacy.10:40 am – 1:00 pm EST/GMT-5
If you're interested in making the event memorable for everyone, sign up as a volunteer! Assist guests by keeping an eye on them, walking with them, and offering any necessary support to ensure a positive experience.
Participants will meet at Dietz Stadium and be driven to Esopus Town Hall, where they will hear speeches from local officials and Frank Waters, the Executive Director of MyKingstonKids and creator of the Sojourner Truth walk.
Departure: The bus leaves at 10:40 a.m. from the Kline Bus Stop.
Return: We will return to campus at 12:40 p.m., arriving by 1:00 p.m.
