Bard College is currently ranked #2 nationally in food scrap diversion, and we're aiming for the top spot! Join us for the 8-week Campus Race to Zero Waste competition, where our collective actions can make a tremendous impact on campus sustainability.
Your daily choices matter! Here's how you can help:
- Compost all food scraps at Kline (bones, too), vegan scraps only in dorms
- Take this week's Composting Quiz - drawing for $15 each week, with a bigger draw at the end of eight weeks.
- Fill out this form to request a Compost Bin for your dorm, a Baby Barry reuse bin for your dorm (limited) or just to say you want to help out
- Sort your recyclables carefully
- Quiz results: 33% got 100%, avg score 75%
- what IS recyclable? the aluminum can, the clean peanut butter jar (whether glass or plastic), the green machine plastic bottle with top.
- What IS NOT recyclable? the plastic, hinged lid tomato clamshell, the oat milk carton, the Pepsi paper cup
- Choose reusable items over single-use options
- Quiz results: 33% got 100%, avg score 75%
- All are welcome to browse the FreeUse store!
- TIOLI ("leave it" applies to campus-generated items only; take it all away and put it to use!
There's a weekly quiz in Kline with a cash prize!
There will be trip(s) the the Ozone - the local bulk refillery 3 miles from Bard.
