Al-Quds University held a graduation ceremony for undergraduate and master’s students from the Al-Quds Bard College (AQB) of Arts and Sciences. The ceremony brought together graduates from the natural and social sciences, humanities, and arts, as well as master’s programs in Teaching Methods, European Studies, and American Studies, for the academic years of 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
AQB’s President, Professor Imad Abu Kishek, remarked that the partnership between Al-Quds University and Bard College has made a lasting impact on students, the university, and Palestinian society, despite increasing challenges over the last four years. Kishek also outlined plans for expanding AQB’S impact through an ambitious plan to establish a network of secondary schools across Palestine, including the AQB Preparatory Program at the Arab Institute School, and plans to establish schools throughout the West Bank.
Acting President Jonathan Becker conveyed his congratulations from Annandale, and the ceremony closed with graduation certificates and artistic performances, including a traditional dabke and folk arts performance by the Al-Istiqlal Troupe, as well as musical performances presented by AQB students.
Founded in 2009 in Abu Dis, a neighborhood East of Jerusalem, AQB is the only dual degree liberal arts college in the West Bank, Palestine, and Bard College is the only college in the United States with a dual degree undergraduate program in partnership with a Palestinian university.
