Bard Graduate Student Among the cell’s 2027 Cohort of Resident Artists
Piper Hill MFA ’28 was named among the grantees of the cell, a renowned nonprofit theater that incubates artistic talent through its Artist-in-Residence Program for playwrights, composers, theatrical designers, choreographers, and interdisciplinary artists. Led by Founding Artistic Director Nancy Manocherian and Artistic Director Kira Simring, the cell has named 27 resident artists for the 2027/2028 cycle, encompassing 22 projects. Hill’s project, titled How We Came to Build the House that Looks Like Me, “tells the story of “the guys who live inside of me,” writes Hill, “with visuals animated using The Sims 3 and 4.” Grantees receive up to $5,000, a one to five week space grant at the cell, and a suite of services including creative development, dramaturgy, casting assistance, technical support, administrative services, 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship, marketing, ticketing, videography, and photographic documentation.
