Bard Men’s Soccer Makes History with 7-0 Record

On Saturday afternoon, the Bard College men’s soccer team went to 7-0, the best start in program history. As of Tuesday, Bard is one of three teams in Division III with at least seven wins and no losses or ties. “I’m certainly pleased with our start, but I’m even more proud of how this group has responded to adversity,” said Head Coach TJ Kostecky, now in his seventh season at the head of the program.
“We’ve dealt with injuries and setbacks beyond our control, and each time, other players have stepped up and performed exceptionally well. That speaks to the depth, resilience, and character of this team. Those qualities will become even more important as we enter an exceptionally strong and demanding conference, where every match presents a significant challenge. We’ll need to continue bringing that same focus, and collective spirit each time we step on the field.”
Bard has scored 13 goals this season and allowed just one. Contributions have been made from all around the roster, including leading goal-scorers Emmett Olson ’26/’27M and Henry Skeltis ’27, and talented newcomers Marios Savva ’30 and Aren Andrews ’30. Jake Sudit ’29 has been the main goalkeeper for the Raptors, and he has 20 saves, giving him a save percentage of 95.2%. The team as a whole has a 0.143 goals allowed average, which ranks third in all of Division III. The Bard defense has been anchored by the Raptors’ leading minutes-getter, James Bird ’27.
