Acclaimed mezzo-soprano and Bard Conservatory alumna Sun-Ly Pierce and Associate Director of the Graduate Vocal Arts Program Kayo Iwama present A Woman Becoming, featuring works by Gioachino Rossini, Ruth Crawford-Seeger, and Peter Lieberson. The program explores the question: “How does a woman become herself?” The eloquent poetry and inspired musical settings endeavor to discover what she believes, what she creates, and whom and how she loves.
