CCS Bard Method Camp: Attention

The CCS Bard Method Camp symposium at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College was conceived as a space for reflection on method rather than outcome and is dedicated to examining the foundational practices that shape curatorial work and its adjacent fields.
For this second annual symposium, CCS Bard Method Camp: Attention begins from the intuition that attention has become one of the defining questions of our time. We are constantly told that our attention is under threat, fragmented by technological platforms, information overload, and competing demands. Rather than focusing exclusively on the crisis of attention, we hope to explore attention as a method: how we learn to listen, to observe, to focus, to remain present, and to perceive what might otherwise go unnoticed. We are particularly interested in personal accounts of practice: reflections on habits, protocols, exercises, rituals, doubts, discoveries, and forms of discipline that shape how attention operates in our work.
