Illinoise, Co-commissioned by the Fisher Center at Bard, Wins 2024 Tony Award for Best Choreography
Illinoise, the acclaimed dance musical based on the Sufjan Stevens album Illinois, won Best Choreography at the 2024 Tony Awards. The award was accepted by Justin Peck, director and choreographer of Illinoise. Co-commissioned by the Fisher Center at Bard, Illinoise’s win for Best Choreography is the third Tony for a production commissioned, developed, and premiered at the Fisher Center, including two Tonys for Oklahoma! The cast of llinoise performed “The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us” live at the 77th Annual Tony Awards.
