Marty Schenker ’72 Named 49th Elliott V. Bell Award Winner

Bard alumnus Marty Schenker ’72, editor-at-large at Bloomberg News, has been named the 49th Elliott V. Bell Award winner by the New York Financial Writers’ Association (NYFWA). The award, named after NYFWA’s inaugural president, “honors journalists who have made a significant contribution to the field of financial journalism.” The award committee praised Schenker for “his fairness, news judgement, ethics, and people skills, and for his ability to bridge the gap that often exists between the print and broadcast worlds.” They also noted his efforts throughout his career to serve as a mentor for younger journalists. Schenker's career has spanned roles at the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Investor Network before landing at Bloomberg News, where he has held many roles and is currently editor-at-large.
