Bard College Holds 5K Run to Benefit Red Hook Schools on Sunday, May 1st

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— Bard College is holding a 5K Run/Walk to benefit Red Hook schools, on the morning of Sunday, May 1st. Registration for the “Bard 5K to Support Red Hook Schools” begins at 8:30 a.m. in front of The Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, and the race starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration packets will be available at the sign in desk on the day of the race. Entry fees are $10 for students; $20 for non-students if you pre-register before April 25th, and $25 on race day. To download a registration form or for more information about the 5K race, go to www.redhookeducationfoundation.org, or send an e-mail to [email protected].

All proceeds will be donated to the Red Hook Education Foundation, an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to support public education in the town of Red Hook, NY. Race participants have the option to raise additional money by obtaining sponsors, and may earmark that for particular programs that benefit Red Hook schools. In addition to the general fund, participants can obtain sponsorship and direct their donations to the Martha Strever Scholarship for Achievement in Mathematics, the Garden Classroom at Mill Road, The Red Hook Schools Debate Program, or the Fund for Science Equipment for Red Hook High School. Bard College will award prizes to individuals or groups that raise over $100.00 for our cause. Anyone that raises over $1,000.00 will receive two tickets to the Red Hook Education Foundation June 30th Spiegeltent event “An Evening with Roseanne Cash.”

This event is intended to mobilize students as well as the local community in a grass roots effort to support our local schools. The 5K will take place rain or shine. To pre-register, send the completed form to the Red Hook Education Foundation, P.O. Box 2, Red Hook, NY 12571.
