Celebrated Author James Morrow to Give Reading at Bard College on Monday, March 19
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — On Monday, March 19, at Bard College, novelist James Morrow, the two-time winner of the World Fantasy Award and author of the Godhead Trilogy of novels (Towering Jehovah, Blameless in Abaddon, and The Eternal Footman) and Shambling Towards Hiroshima, will read from his novel The Philosopher’s Apprentice. The Washington Post calls Morrow “a literary swashbuckler, his proud vessel a stalwart craft composed of rationalist thought and biological determination, his weapons a rapier intelligence and a Swiftian gift for satire.” Morrow will be introduced by novelist and Bard literature professor Bradford Morrow. The reading, presented by Bradford Morrow’s Innovative Contemporary Fiction Reading Series, takes place at 2:30 p.m. in Weis Cinema at the Bertelsmann Campus Center. It is free and open to the public; no reservations are required.
James Morrow is the author of numerous novels, including, among others, The Wine of Violence, The Continent of Lies, This Is Where the World Ends, and The Last Witchfinder, as well as the short-story collections Swatting at the Cosmos, Bible Stories for Adults, and The Cat’s Pajamas. In addition to his World Fantasy Awards, he has received two Nebula Awards and the Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire.
