TRIO CON CUATRO PERFORMS AT BARD ON TUESDAY, DECMEBER 7 Concert will raise funds for the Trustee Leader Scholar Program at Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—IgniVox Productions, the Office of Student Life Programming, and the Latin American Student Organization of Bard College present a live concert by Trio Con Cuatro on Tuesday, December 7. The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Innocents at Bard College. Admission is $5, free for the Bard community, and benefits the Trustee Leader Scholar Program at Bard. Accordion, bass, cuatro, and an ensemble of voices combine to form the Trio Con Cuatro, which was originally conceived as a workshop dedicated to creating innovative new music by blending traditional elements with new styles. After performing in and around New York City, the group is now recording its debut album. The members are Carlos Cuellar Brown, Roberto Fuentes, and Bard alumnus Greg Richardson ’01. The founder of IgniVox Productions, Rev. Kathleen C. Mandeville ’76, is a former chaplain at the College, where she is “is glad to be once again, producing a concert in the Chapel, where I had the pleasure of working with many others to create numerous special events.” Funds raised at the concert benefit the Trustee Leader Scholar Program at Bard, which provides opportunities for motivated students to develop their organizationall and leadership skills through the design and implementation of service projects that promote energetic involvement in campus life and cultivates relationships between Bard College and the local and international communities. For further information, call 845-758-7097. # About the Musicians: Carlos Cuellar Brown is a composer, instrumentalist, and music producer with formal training as a classical pianist. He has had years of experience as a singer, writer, and instrumentalist in eclectic, rock, jazz, and chamber ensembles. His versatility on accordion, and knowledge of Caribbean culture, brings a unique flavor to this trio. A musician, singer, actor, and dancer, Roberto Fuentes lives in New York City, where he has taught and worked in the performing arts since 1992. In his native Venezuela he was the director and lead actor of his own musical theater company, Alpargata Cantorum. Currently he is enjoying writing, singing, and playing cuatro, a Venezuelan stringed instrument, with the trio. Fuentes has worked with IgniVox in its resident guest artist program. Greg Richardson ’01 is a New York-based musician with a passion for all types of music. After leaving Tucson, Arizona, he studied music at Bard. He now resides in Brooklyn, where he plays electric and acoustic bass in variety of projects ranging from Indian music, to rock and roll and hip﷓hop. With Trio Con Cuatro, he plays acoustic bass, sings, and contributes to the compositions and arrangement of their original material. IgniVox: Music is Fire is a music production company/congregation dedicated to excellence in performance and transformation through music. It was founded by Rev. Kathleen Mandeville ’76, who is its artistic director. # # # (12/2/04)
