The
Heinz O. and Elizabeth C. Bertelsmann Campus Center
The newly built 29,000-square-foot Campus Center is home to Bard Colleges
Barnes & Noble bookstore, the College post office, the Down
the Road Café, the 100-seat Weis
Cinema, an information desk, seating areas, six e-mail terminals,
an ATM machine, a lounge/gallery, and a multipurpose
room used for events such as dinners, dances, lectures, and performances.
The second floor houses a computer lab (containing six iMacs and six Windows95
PCs), game room, TV lounge, meeting
rooms for student clubs, copy machines, and the Office
of Student Activities. The signature exterior feature is a spacious
second-floor terrace on the buildings south side. There are also
three ground-floor patio areas.

as follows:

Facility hours over
January Intercession, Summer Break, and major holidays will vary from
the above schedule. Please call the Office of Student Activities at 758-7099
for updated time schedules during these times of the year.

The Center is named in honor of College benefactors Heinz O. Bertelsmann,
professor of international relations at Bard from 1947 to 1977, and his
wife Elizabeth Bertelsmann, a teacher of German and a noted photographer.
