A strong and active network composed of many of Berlin’s cultural, economic, political and academic institutions enables students at BCB to interact with leading scholars, activists, thinkers, and artists in the city. Partner institutions include the Technische Universität, Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Institute for Cultural Inquiry, American Academy, and Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

The student body at Bard College Berlin is small yet highly international, and it includes not only full-time BCB students but also visiting students from the Bard College network, the European Erasmus exchange network, and other partner institutions, as well as students from areas of crisis. Housing and DiningVisiting juniors and Begin in Berlin students live in shared double rooms in suite-style housing on campus. Meals are provided through a meal service. There is always a vegetarian option.

BCB Abroad OrientationAll Bard Abroad in Berlin programs begin with a comprehensive predeparture information session. Upon arrival on campus, students undertake a two-day orientation that focuses on program expectations (academic and behavioral), health and safety information, cultural adjustment strategies, and an introduction to life in Berlin. -
Student ActivitiesEach semester at Bard College Berlin kicks off with the Berlin Weekend—personalized walking tours led by faculty, students, and staff through their favorite neighborhood. The arts faculty hosts an Open Studio at the end of each semester to publicly showcase student work. Other events organized include concerts, workshops, lectures, informal community meetings, dinners, sporting events, and cultural day trips.

Campus FacilitiesThe Bard College Berlin campus is located in the residential district of Pankow and all buildings are within walking distance, including classrooms, dorms, cafeteria, and the Factory studio arts building. The nearby SPOK Fitness Center serves as the school gym and is accessible weekdays and weekends free of charge.
