They have compiled some of the most common appetizers, salads, and dishes that you will most likely encounter in any Russian family kitchen on December 31. National favorites include Olivier salad, canapes with caviar, meat "The French way," and sweet potato (it's a dessert!). You should not be taken by surprise when you come across a herring under a fur coat! We will learn to cook these traditional festive dishes from scratch, and you will have all of the recipes to surprise your family with a few samples of Russian cuisine. Entries received after 11:59 PM will not be considered. Winners will be announced on November 20th, 2020. Prizes Prizes will be awarded to the six photos with the most votes. These prizes will be digital gift cards ranging from $25 to $50 US dollars. Gift card vendors will be decided on a case by case basis with each winner. Wilmary Rodríguez Checo studied at USFQ in Quito, Ecuador, was awarded a Watson Fellowship (spending the year after graduating learning about foster care systems and orphanages in India, Uganda, Costa Rica, Perú, and the Philippines), and now works as a social worker at Children’s Aid in New York City.
