Bard College Conservatory of Music Presents

Bard Chinese Ensemble Fall Concert 2026

Wednesday, October 28, 2026
Bitó Conservatory Building, Performance Space
8:00 pm – 10:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
The Bard Chinese Ensemble (BCE) presents an evening of music that brings together the beauty of Chinese traditions and the excitement of musical exploration. The concert begins with student chamber groups performing works inspired by traditional melodies, folk music, and contemporary compositions. Following intermission, the full ensemble takes the stage, traveling from the musical landscapes of The Silk Road to the expressive melodies and lively rhythms of Astor Piazzolla’s tangos, before closing with the uplifting Ode to the Sun.
Featuring a distinctive blend of Chinese and Western instruments, the concert highlights the creativity and collaboration of Bard Conservatory students under the direction of Jindong Cai, Director of the US-China Music Institute.
