Beyond the Campus: Why Effective Community Engagement Is Critical to Higher Education

As universities face growing questions about their relevance and responsibility, this webinar will examine why substantial community engagement curricula is the key to strengthening student learning and integrating higher education meaningfully into students’ lives and future careers.
Drawing on experiences from universities across four different regions, Rabih Shibli (American University of Beirut, Lebanon), Erin Cannan (Bard College, United States), Tania Lima (King’s College London, England), and Samia Huq (BRAC University, Bangladesh), will also explore what effective community engagement programs look like in practice; and how communities take part in shaping these programs.
