Have questions? See below:
Do I need to schedule an appointment?
What do I need to bring with me?YES! Appointments are required and space is limited! These vaccine clinics have been very popular and there is limited supply, which means appointments fill up quickly.
Please only schedule an appointment if you are sure you can make it at that time. We do not have an easy way of canceling appointments and if you do not show up, that is a time someone else could have received a vaccine instead. If you need to come earlier or later than your scheduled appointment, no need to email! We will make sure you are seen.
How do I know which vaccine to get and/or if I'm eligible? Please make sure to bring your insurance card (or an electronic copy of it) with you. The Village Apothecary team will not be able to give you any shots without your insurance information.
Please see Village Apothecary's 2026 Vaccine Update and the YLE Fall Vaccine Guide for details. What if I recently had COVID-19?
While the COVID-19 vaccine is no longer required at Bard College, we strongly recommend receiving yearly updated vaccines as they have been shown to be safe and well-tolerated, and provide much stronger protection against current subvariants of COVID-19.
We also strongly recommend everyone get an updated flu vaccine every year. Major national and international public health and health organizations across the US agree.
What if I am sick on the day of my appointment? If you currently have or recently had COVID-19, the recommendation is to wait at least until you recover from the acute infection; you may also choose to delay up to 3 months from the onset of symptoms or your positive test.
As long as you do not have a fever, you can still get your vaccine! Just mask up to make sure you're not passing anything along to the rest of the community.
Will there be any cost?
If you are a faculty, staff or student and have health insurance through Bard or have NY Medicaid, there will be no cost. If you have a different insurance, please confirm with your insurance provider whether COVID-19 and flu vaccines are covered. What if all of the appointments are taken?
We have limited vaccine supply and staffing at this clinic, so vaccines are by appointment only; however, if you are unable to schedule an appointment, you may stop by to see if we have any available slots.
What if I scheduled an appointment but can't make it?There are also other nearby pharmacies where you can make appointments for the COVID-19 and flu vaccines and your insurance will be accepted.
What if my question isn't answered here?If you have scheduled an appointment and need to cancel, or if you have any questions not answered above, please email [email protected].
If you have any questions about these vaccines or the vaccine event itself, please call Village Apothecary at 845-679-0790 or via email at [email protected] and ask for the onsite vaccine team.
