A part of the College’s Office of Financial Aid, the Student Employment Office (SEO) is a resource for both students and staff. The main functions of the Student Employment Coordinator are to review all on-campus jobs and to provide and process the forms required for student employment and student payroll.
Students seeking employment should register as a user on the Career Development Office CDO's Job and Internship Board, Handshake (https://bard.joinhandshake.com/login). Once registered students can log in at any time to view a number of on-campus jobs, off-campus jobs and internship possibilities. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the prospective supervisor to schedule an interview. If a student is having difficulty scheduling an interview or finding a job then they should visit with the Student Employment Coordinator.
Once a student is hired, they must complete a Federal Withholding W-4 form, New York State IT-2104 tax form and Dept of Homeland Security I-9 Form - Eligibility of Employment before starting work. These tax documents may be found on the Student Employment website at: www.bard.edu/campus/departments/financialaid/employment/students/
International students seeking on-campus employment must first visit with the International Student Advisor if they do not already have a Social Security number.
