Studying Globally at Bard
Study abroad can be a transformative experience in a student’s education. Students return from abroad with fresh perspectives on their Bard education, and often with ideas that serve as the foundation for their senior projects.
Bard students have many study abroad options available to them. Students may choose to go on a Bard program, student exchange, summer language intensive, or non-Bard program.
Study abroad opportunities are just one piece of Bard's broader international engagement. For more information on Bard's international activities, including its dual degree programs, please visit Bard's Center for Civic Engagement and Institute for International Liberal Education.
Bard’s high expectations of student achievement extend to study abroad. Bard has developed a number of programs specifically designed to integrate students into foreign cultures and academic environments. Especially when combined with related academic study and foreign language fluency, study abroad enables students to gain essential perspectives on the history, culture, and concerns of people around the globe.
