The Student Resources Group (SRG) is a student-run organization that offers a variety of services to the Bard community. It organizes job-specific service groups and provides students with an opportunity to take an active role in the safety of our campus community. The SRG offers training opportunities and state certifications to its members free of charge. Because of the nature of many of the service groups, most of the work available to students takes place outside the normal nine-to-five workday. Interested students are encouraged to attend the information sessions offered at the beginning of each semester and pick up an application for employment.  All services are offered to Bard students free of charge and can be reached by calling Security at 845-758-7460.

SRG service initiatives:

Emergency Driver  Students that receive the New York State Safe Driver Certification are eligible to become on-call emergency drivers for the College. Emergency drivers are responsible for providing transportation to Northern Dutchess Hospital or other local medical facilities should a student have a medical emergency and is unable to drive him or herself or has no alternative transportation. The emergency driver service is not available for all types of medical emergencies, during severe weather or other hazardous driving circumstances. Ambulance service is available on a 24-hour basis from local providers if needed.

Safe Ride Students that receive the New York Sate Safe Driver Certification are eligible to become drivers for the Safe Ride Program. Offered on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights throughout the semester, this program seeks to ensure that students are able to return to campus safely from an off campus location. A driver and a navigator will be on-call from the hours of midnight to 3:00 a.m. to pick up students at any address within the village of Red Hook and Tivoli and return them to campus.

Golf Cart Patrol  The Golf Cart Patrol offers students after-dark transportation escorts from and to any location on campus. Golf Cart Patrol is on-call seven days a week between the hours of 11:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. Golf Cart Patrol drivers must have completed the New York State Safe Driver Certification.
