Our Collections

Equipped with temperature-and-humidity-controlled vaults and maintained by a full-time Manager/Archivist, the Center for Moving Image Arts archive has four primary target areas: Classical Hollywood, international auteur cinema, silent/early sound cinema, and East Asian cinema.  Special collections are dedicated to Taiwanese cinema, the films of Nicholas Ray, and American independent filmmaking. 

Prints in the archive are intended for use in CMIA programs, associated courses, and educational initiatives.

The growing collections have been supported by generous donations from individuals, organizations, and studios in several countries.
