Bookstore

Bertelsmann Campus Center, phone: 7005
Website:
www.bard.bncollege.com
Hours: Monday–Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Closed sat/sun except special weekends.

The bookstore stocks books and supplies required for course work and a wide selection of general books, college supplies, and imprinted merchandise. It will also special order any book that is not in stock, but is in print. Buy your textbooks as soon as your class schedule is final. Most books are in stock by the start of the Language & Thinking Program in the fall and mid-January in the spring, depending on the timing of the faculty order.  On average, books and supplies for undergraduate programs cost between $500 and $600 per semester (less if you buy used books). You should not purchase books for any course you think you might drop, but the bookstore’s refund policy will protect you against schedule changes. Textbooks are ordered from requisitions submitted by the faculty. They are arranged by course number. Shelf tags indicate the course number for each book (and a section number when necessary), how many books are required for the course, and whether a book is required or recommended. Always check the instructor’s syllabus, as well as the shelf tag, to be sure that you purchase the correct books. Textbook information is available on our website for all courses that we have received textbook orders on from faculty. The Bookstore offers New, Used, rental new and used textbooks, and digital content.

The bookstore accepts cash; Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Your student identification card can function as a demand card. To use the card in this way, you must make an initial minimum payment of $50 at the Student Accounts Office, with additional deposits as necessary.   The funds are available per the Student Accounts office.  You may use this account to pay for your rental books, but a credit card MUST be used to secure rental textbooks for non-return charges.
