Full-time Faculty in DanceBard College invites applications for an artist/scholar for a full-time faculty position in Dance with an open rank and the possibility of a tenure-track designation, to begin in the fall of 2020.
The successful candidate for this position has experience teaching dance in higher education with expertise in dance history/studies, dance composition, and a professional record of accomplishment as a performing or creative artist. Candidate must have college level teaching experience and a relevant terminal degree. Benefits are included.
Preferred candidates possess an inclination or experience in administration, a willingness to engage with professional partners outside of Bard, the desire to build collaborations across the college, and a keen interest in the role of dance in a liberal arts college. Additional duties include student advising, coordinating professional caliber productions, and engaging with the life of the college. Dance faculty members at Bard College are teacher-practitioners whose professional work is in ongoing dialogue with their teaching and advising. Faculty teach five courses per year.
