The following benefits are available:

If you are currently enrolled in or eligible for Bard College sponsored group benefits, please visit the Benefits Portal.  You can access all of your provider forms and information from the portal.  Please see the details below for accessing the Benefits Portal:

For first time users:
Click on the 'Benefits Portal' link above,
Select "Register as a new user" to create an account,
Your company identifier is: BARD,
Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your SSN.

For returning users:

Wellness Program:
Effective January 1, 2018, monthly employee contributions will increase for all medical plans: $50 for individual and $100 for family plans.  All employees will have the option to continue their contributions without an increase for the entire plan year by participating in the new wellness program.  To participate, you must obtain your annual physical and complete the Health Assessment through Empire between 12/1/16 – 11/30/17.  To access the Health Assessment, please visit  www.empireblue.com (*registration is required).

Flexible Spending Accounts (including dependent care and commuter benefits):
As of July 1, 2017,  FSAs will be administered through Benefit Resource, Inc. (BRi).  After June 30, 2017, any claims incurred during the 2016-2017 plan year should be submitted to BRi for reimbursement.  The run-out period deadline for the prior plan year will remain as September 30, 2017.  If you enroll in a FSA, please download the Flexible Spending Account Welcome Letter below for information regarding accessing your account.

Health Savings Accounts:
As of July 1, 2017, HSAs will be administered by First American Bank.  If you enroll in a HSA, please download the Health Savings Account Online Guide from First American Bank for information regarding setting up your account.

Faculty Benefites Overview

  • Full-time faculty (half-time and above) are eligible for all benefits listed on the benefits portal.
  • Part-time faculty (less than half-time) are not eligible for benefits (but may participate in discount programs below).
  • Full-time visiting faculty (half-time and above) are only eligible to participate in the health insurance and flexible spending accounts plan (& discount programs below)
  • Part-time visiting faculty (less than half-time) are not eligible for benefits (but may participate in discount programs below).
  • International faculty (who are US Citizens or US Permanent Residents) are not eligible for most benefits listed on the benefits portal, but may be eligible to participate in the College's TIAA-CREF retirement plan. See the 'Retirement' section for more information.

Staff* Benefits Overview

  • Regular full-time employees are those who are regularly scheduled to work in a budgeted position requiring a minimum of 35 hours per week, are eligible for all  benefits listed on the benefits portal.
  • Regular part-time employees who work at least 25 hours per week (1,300 hours per year) in a budgeted position are eligible for benefits.
  • Regular part-time employees who work less than 25 hours per week (1,300 per year), may participate in discount programs listed below.
  • Regular employees who work more than 1,000 hours per year are eligible to participate in the College's TIAA-CREF retirement plan. See the 'Retirement' section for more information (& the discount plans below).
  • International Staff (who are US Citizens or Permanent Residents) working in foreign countries may be eligible for some Bard College sponsored benefits according to their appointment. Appointments of more than 1,000 hours per year are eligible to participate in the College's TIAA-CREF retirement plan. See the 'Retirement' section for more information.
