Reporting Incidents of Discrimination and Harassment

The College is committed to preventing and addressing all forms of discrimination and harassment that affect the campus community. It is difficult, however, for the College to respond effectively or responsibly to anonymous allegations, such as those made on social media platforms. Stating one's truth on a public platform can be cathartic and empowering. We see these statements and know that they are based on genuine personal pain. Please know that we are working diligently to address these issues.

Multiple committees and commissions (composed of faculty, staff, and students) are working on systematic and institutional progress toward equity and inclusion. These groups are actively working to address the needs expressed by our community in multiple forums, including those expressed in town halls and on social media platforms. Anyone interested in working with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives can contact [email protected] for more information. To find updates on the work, visit the Bard DEI website.

In order to investigate a complaint and determine an appropriate response, we need specific, verifiable information. Allegations should be delivered through established and secure reporting channels, which are available to everyone at the College. We have multiple channels for reporting misconduct or abuse. Reports can be made using the Bard College Incident Reporting Form or the Title IX Reporting Form, or by calling the anonymous reporting hotline at 888-323-4198. Members of the community who want the College to review reports of misconduct should use these reporting mechanisms to initiate the process.
