Job Title:  Laboratory Technician Fellow (short-term) (Bard High School Early College Bronx)

Job Description

Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Bronx, a partnership between Bard College and the NYC Department of Education, seeks a short-term Laboratory Technician Fellow to support its high school and college science curriculum during the remainder of this academic year, through June 30, 2026. The work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

The primary responsibilities in this position will be preparation, set-up, and supervision of teaching laboratories. This includes preparing and distributing reagents and standardized solutions, and distributing and testing equipment. In addition, the Fellow will supervise students during laboratory experiments. The Fellow will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the teaching laboratory and laboratory prep room, cleaning glassware. The Fellow will also provide guidance to student lab assistants.

Qualifications
  • Successful candidates should be pursuing or already possess a B.A. or B.S. in a lab science
  • They will have knowledge of proper laboratory techniques and safety procedures, including the use of analytical balances, volumetric glassware, and organic solvents. 
  • They will have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with faculty and students
  • They will also possess strong organizational skills and have attention to detail 
Location:  Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Bronx, 1619 Boston Road, Bronx, NY 10460

Start Date: April 2026

Duration: 1 to 3 months from April 2026 to June 30, 2026

Number of Hires sought: 1

Compensation:   $30 per hour
