The position requires the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment and to work effectively as a vital part of the administrative support team. This is a full-time, year-round position on the Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, reporting to the Dean of Studies/Associate VP for Academic Affairs.
Essential Duties
- Schedule meetings and maintain calendars (Google calendar)
- Research and prepare materials for institutional accreditation applications
- Draft and proofread correspondence
- Direct and process, with tact, professionalism, and good judgment, inquiries and/or requests from students, parents, staff, and faculty, as required
- Manage the scheduling, coordination, and preparation of agendas for meetings and conferences
- Attend staff meetings; draft and distribute meeting minutes
- Make travel arrangements for program staff
- Develop and implement an annual work plan for the completion of cyclical administrative tasks and projects
- Oversee all aspects of general office coordination, including reception, student staff, website management, phone calls, and office hours
- All other duties as assigned
- Associate's Degree required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to function effectively in a busy environment
- Capable of multi-tasking with accuracy and proficiency
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of constituents
- Strong computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; proficiency with website management and publishing a plus
- Demonstrated success working with and for diverse students, faculty and staff
