Bard High School Early College Baltimore

Faculty - World History (School Year beginning August 2020)

Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Baltimore, a partnership between Bard College and the Baltimore City Public Schools in Baltimore, Maryland, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in World History, beginning August 2020.  Field of specialization is open; expertise in African, Middle Eastern, Latin American, or East Asian history is especially desirable, as is experience teaching survey courses. 
 
The Bard early colleges enable talented and highly motivated students to complete a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree from Bard College within four years of study. The academic program emphasizes small classes and a commitment to teaching a diverse student body.
 
The successful applicant for this position must be committed to teaching classes at both the high school and college levels.  In addition, candidates will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school, including student advising, club advising, and committee service.  An M.A. in history or related field and dedication to teaching are required. Candidates who will have a Ph.D. at the time of employment, or who are ABD, with high school and/or college teaching experience are preferred.
