Visiting Faculty: Environmental Law for Policy
Employer Website: http://apply.interfolio.com/124080Bard College’s Center for Environmental Policy (CEP) seeks a visiting faculty member to teach a course in Environmental Law for Policy in our Master of Science in Environmental Policy program in fall 2023. The course may be conducted online, or in person on Bard’s Annandale-on-Hudson campus. Classes meet twice weekly.
The Environmental Law for Policy course provides students with the fundamental principles of environmental law, beginning with an overview of the US legal system before assessing key federal environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act. Additional foci of the course include the international climate regime that has developed under the UNFCCC, and the history and present goals of the environmental justice movement.
Qualifications
Bard CEP faculty members are expected to have earned a J.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and a demonstrated interest in environmental justice.
Compensation
$10,000 for one 3-credit course, plus option of a travel stipend for visiting faculty who are not local.
