In this role, you will be assisting payroll and accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations. Responsibilities:
- Assist with Payroll processing, working with multiple departments to ensure department of labor rules are followed
- Process and verify all incoming invoices, expense reports, and payment requests with precision, ensuring adherence to company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local quarterly tax returns
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, including vendor statements and general ledger accounts, to maintain accurate financial records
- Enter data accurately into accounting software and maintain meticulous records of all transactions
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable activities
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly and professionally
- Assist with month-end closing procedures by preparing journal entries related to accounts payable and reconciling related accounts
- Support audits by providing detailed documentation of transactions and maintaining organized records
- Proven experience in accounts payable functions
- Experience filing quarterly payroll returns
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy
- Ability to analyze financial data critically and perform account reconciliations efficiently
- Familiarity with payroll management systems such as ADP and experience in benefits administration
- Strong organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities to collaborate across departments

Salary Range: $25-$29/hour
This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
