Bard Model United Nations Conference 2015
Saturday, November 14, 2015
Olin Hall
8:00 am – 6:30 pm EST/GMT-5
Bard College will be hosting its second annual Model United Nations Conference for high school students, BardMUNC, on Saturday, November 14, in Olin Hall. Nearly 200 students from high schools in the Hudson Valley will attend BardMUNC, where they will take on the role of a country in a simulation on current or historic issues and advocate for that country's view.8:00 am – 6:30 pm EST/GMT-5
This year, BardMUNC will be hosting four committees, the United Nations Human Rights Council on journalists' freedoms, the European Union on the migration crisis, and a joint crisis committee on the Japanese Manchuoko, with students acting as members of the Cabinet from both Tokyo and Manchuria. For more information, please visit www.bardmunc.org.
BardMUNC has incorporated Bard's strong social justice inclinations into its conference by ensuring Model United Nations is accessible to all. BardMUNC encourages students new to Model UN to attend their first conference, and for many schools, BardMUNC is one of their few affordable conference options. BardMUNC is run by the Bard Model United Nations Initiative, a TLS project that coaches Model UN in local schools such as Red Hook, Rhinebeck, and Germantown.
BardMUNC is pleased to announce that the 2015 conference guest speaker will be Professor Mark Danner.
