New York Women in Communications Foundation hosts a day-long conference, featuring over 40 communications professionals speaking on 10 different topics. More than 300 college women (and many men) attend to get career tips on various communication fields, ranging from journalism, marketing, and public relations, to broadcasting, social media, and entrepreneurship.

Apply for CDO Sponsorship to Attend the Event:
The Career Development Office is pleased to sponsor five students to attend the 2016 conference. If you are interested in pursuing a career in the field of communications, or want to learn more about the industry and would like to attend the event, please follow the application instructions below.
**Although this is the New York Women in Communications Conference, all students are welcome and encouraged to apply/attend**
Please note that the Career Development Office will cover the admission cost for five students, however, students will be responsible for their own transportation to the event.
Application Instructions for CDO Sponsorship:
Due to high interest, the Career Development Office asks that students submit a resume and a one-page letter of interest describing why they would like to attend the conference and what they hope to gain from the experience. Materials should be submitted via email to [email protected].
The deadline to apply for CDO sponsorship is Friday, October 21, 2016. Selected students will be notified by Friday, October 28, 2016.
Additional Requirements/Expectations:
As part of CDO’s sponsorship, the selected students will be tasked with using some of the knowledge they glean from the event to assist CDO with communications efforts for our spring events. Each selected student will be assigned one (1) spring event for which they will create a short communications plan. This could include designing and distributing a poster; marketing an event on social media or via email; writing a blog post; and so on. CDO advisers will work with the selected students to help strategize and deliver their communications plans in support of future CDO programming.
