11:00 am – 1:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
Are you ready for a culturally-immersive and academically-focused experience abroad? Consider studying with the Intercollegiate Sri Lanka Education (ISLE) Program! ISLE is a one-semester program affiliated with the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. As a liberal arts program, ISLE offers opportunities for students interested in a range of subjects including Buddhism & Other Religions in Sri Lanka, Human Rights, Gender & Women's Studies, Environmental Studies, Traditional Medicine & Public Health, and more. During the semester, ISLE students live with a host family, study Sinhala and Tamil languages, take courses with renowned professors from the University of Peradeniya, and complete a one-month independent research project on a topic of their choice. Past independent study projects have become the foundation for Senior Projects and post-graduate fellowship proposals.11:00 am – 1:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
To learn more, stop by the ISLE information table in the Campus Center lobby between 11am-1pm today to check out photos from recent programs and pick up an application. ISLE Program alumna Hannah Durham (Bard '15) will be available to answer questions and discuss how ISLE can help you pursue your academic and personal goals.
Visit the ISLE student-run blog (isleprogram.tumblr.com) and ISLE Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ISLEprogram) to see photos, videos, and posts by current ISLE students. For more information about ISLE courses and the application process, visit www.bowdoin.edu/isle or email [email protected].
We hope you'll stop by the info table!
