Stephanie Steele, Boston University
This talk will focus on Dr. Stephanie Steele’s research on risk behaviors. Specifically, Dr. Steele’s research focuses on identifying risk factors and psychiatric correlates related to the onset and maintenance of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). Dr. Steele will discuss two studies. The first study examined the relationship between expectancies about NSSI and alcohol use, and the co-occurrence of these behaviors. The second was an NIMH-funded mixed methods study that examined implicit and explicit identification with NSSI. Dr. Steele is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Boston University where she is involved in a large randomized controlled trial examining efficacious treatments for alcohol use disorders. For more information, call 845-758-7621, or e-mail [email protected].
