Understanding the consequences of environmental change is a pressing issue in modern ecology. Although many of these changes represent a threat to global biodiversity and ecosystem stability, they also represent an opportunity for ecological understanding. Using near shore marine algal and invertebrate communities, this research focuses on how changes in the abiotic environment (specifically ocean acidification and increased sea surface temperatures) affect individual performance, species interactions, and local biodiversity. Repeatedly we find that by better understanding how organisms will function in the novel environments of tomorrow, we are better able to understand how they function today. https://bard.zoom.us/j/84048679664?pwd=cm5EK0wwenN1a1pJUlE1by9UZ0pJQT09
