According to the latest figures captured in the UNHCR Global Trends in Forced Displacement report, 82.4 million people were forcibly displaced as of the end of 2020. This staggering figure is made even more surprising by the fact that 86% of these individuals are hosted by developing countries. This Panel will grapple with a number of the June 2021 Report’s findings. Speakers will give an overview of the Report, including new areas and people of concern, the current global problems faced by refugees, displaced people and hosting countries, and will then focus on the challenges ahead, including donor fatigue.9:00 pm – 10:30 pm EDT/GMT-4
