This work addresses the broad question: why are some bottom-up peace initiatives successful, while others are not? Looking at the case of Tunisia post-Arab Spring, this research identifies the extent to which social capital and brokerage can contribute to sustainable and successful initiatives by utilizing social network analysis as a conceptual and methodological approach. This lecture is open to faculty and staff. It is presented by Dr. Nassim AbiGhanem, director of the Politics Concentration at BCB, as part of the Faculty Colloquium series, organized by Gale Raj-Reichert, Ewa Atanassow, and Nina Tecklenburg.
