Refugee/Displaced Students

Bard College: enrolling and supporting displaced students and scholars
Expanding Medical Education Opportunities for Displaced Refugee Students
"Refugees and asylum seekers bring with them extensive experience and knowledge and are eager to contribute to the US health care system. By extending medical education opportunities to all individuals who aspire to pursue them, regardless of their background or circumstances, academic institutions can play a crucial role in creating a health care system that is more inclusive and equitable."

In-State Tuition Tracker
Federal Student Aid Eligibility for Non-U.S. Citizens
Pfizer’s Refugee Leadership Initiative
Upwardly Global "...dismantles employment barriers for work-authorized immigrant, refugee, and asylee professionals while advancing the inclusion of their skills into the US economy."

Applicants are eligible for the AAMC Fee Assistance Program if prior to completing your Fee Assistance Program application you have a permanent address in the US and meet their income guidelines. The FAP reduces the cost of studying for the MCAT and applying to MD programs.

A Continuous Charity: Our goal is to promote the spiritual and intellectual development of Muslims throughout North America by providing interest-free loans for higher education. By doing this, we hope to bring about a generation of graduates that will have a strong Muslim identity and be well-versed in their fields, using both for the benefit of mankind.

Nationally Competitive Awards

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans program honors the contributions of immigrants and children of immigrants to the United States. "Each year, we invest in the graduate education of 30 New Americans—immigrants and children of immigrants—who are poised to make significant contributions to US society, culture or their academic field. Each Fellow receives up to $90,000 in financial support over two years, and they join a lifelong community of New American Fellows."

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program will annually identify a group of up to 100 high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars is the largest fully endowed scholars program in the world.
