Bard Center for Environmental Policy Presents
National Climate Seminar: U.S. Environmental Politics: Consensus to Gridlock & Beyond
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
On September 7th, join Dr. Eban Goodstein, Director of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy, in discussing our current state of political gridlock around issues of environment and climate. How did we get here? How can we recover a bipartisan approach to environmental politics? The current U.S. political contest comes at a critical turning point in history, determining the American response to climate change, in turn driving the global response, and setting the course for the future of civilization on the Earth.
In addition to being the Director of Bard CEP, Goodstein also directs Bard’s MBA in Sustainability, as well as the C2C Fellows Program at Bard CEP. In recent years, he has coordinated climate education events at over 2500 colleges, universities, high schools and other institutions across the country. Goodstein is the author of a college textbook, Economics and the Environment as well as Fighting for Love in the Century of Extinction: How Passion and Politics Can Stop Global Warming and The Trade-off Myth: Fact and Fiction about Jobs and the Environment.
